Dealing with the bad self-esteem

Hi.

I'm 30 (yes, thirty!) and my skin is worse than it's ever been. This is for two reasons. Firstly, I'm going through a huge amount of stress at the moment. Secondly, I was on the pill (Valette) and it was working beautifully for my skin. However, a few months ago I had a really awful four day long migraine, which my doctor and I thought were due to the pill. I took a break from the pill, then decided to go on a different pill that has a lower risk of migraines. Sadly, in that time, my skin has broken out like never before. I have huge gross pimples all over my face and my forehead has all these tiny bumpy pimples.

The ironic thing was when I was a teen my skin was never this bad. I only really got acne when I was in my twenties.

I'm currently using Differin which has worked in the past.

My question is: how do you cope with the low self-esteem? I can barely look at myself in the mirror at the moment. I just feel so disgusted with myself and feel completely ugly. Does anyone have any tips on feeling okay when your skin isn't?

Has anyone tried Tanda or any other light-therapy type tools for acne that you can buy? The Tanda is 250 and there is a mini one from another brand that is 100, but it seems like a lot of money if it isn't going to work. Any experiences?

Does anyone have experience using "neostrata"? My dermo gave me a script for neostrata solution with clindamycin, but I have 2 unfinished bottles of regular clinda so I was wondering if it's worth it to pick up the new product now or wait.

Moisturizer?

Hi everyone :)

Over the last 10 years I've had everything from the occasional blemish to severe acne. I'm using clindoxyl gel, which my dermatologist prescribed, once every two nights, and cleansing with spectro jel. At the moment my acne is moderate; oily face that also peels in some areas (sensitive skin), blackheads on nose and chin, and usually three or four bigger inflamed pimples.

On the nights I use the gel, my skin in the morning looks much clearer. However, the redness and blemishes are back at night. It seems the moisturizer is the problem. I'm also hoping to try a new cleanser eventually.

Which moisturizer would you recommend? Night cream (for the days off the gel)?

So far I've tried philisophy's hope in a bottle, aveeno clear complexion, dermalogica, pretty much everything from la roche-posay, lumene balancing cream, and the clinique line for acne.

Thanks!

**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009**

So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.

And finally some answers to some questions:

Job interviews

How do most of you deal witg acne or acne scars when you have a job interview? I have an interview on Friday and, although I finished a treatment of Accutane over a month ago and have no real pimples, my skin looks like shit. In fact, shit probably looks better than my skin. My cheels are red and blotchy and when I put foundation on, the powder seems to enhance the unevenness of my skin. I was told to try some blush, but that seems to make my nasty face already worse.

Do any of you find it hard to get meaningful employment when your skin looks bad, especially women? I know men's appearances are somewhat more lenient, but women are expected to be flawless in a job interview. For those of you looking for a job or who have looked for jobs while having bad skin, what do you do to get the interviewer to not notice how bad your skin is? Are there any makeup tricks I should do? I know some interviewers get "distracted" by dangly earrings or a loud tie, so I'd think acne or red scars would be extremely detrimental in getting someone in human resources to actually listen to you.
